I agree — if you are running a 2018 model. I just upgraded from the 2015 iPad Pro 12.9 to the 2020. do I expect to see a use for the Lidar sensor in the newer future? No. Did this upgrade make sense for me? Yep. My iPad is my primary computing device. Aside from my iPhone and a Raspberry Pi, I don’t have another computer. did I have to change some of my workflows? Yep. Have I moved off certain apps because they do support accessibility features like dynamic type? Yep.

The one glaring upgrade Apple missed for this is the ability for an external monitor to be its own desktop and stop mirroring the ipad display. Lots of uses, and with the integration of trackpad and mouse support, maybe that isn’t as far off as we might think.
